An editor reads it
Cover to cover, not the blurb and the first chapter. One named person, whose name goes on the piece.
The book marketing desk
Editorial reviews and author interviews, written by people who read the whole book. Published in full, under a named editor, where readers actually look.
What you are actually buying
Cover to cover, not the blurb and the first chapter. One named person, whose name goes on the piece.
Honest, specific, quotable. If the book has a weakness, the review says so, which is precisely why readers believe the praise.
The interview runs in full, with a fact panel that follows your name across the site and into search results.
Enter the Readers' Choice Award and the verdict leaves our hands entirely. No panel, no sponsor, no publisher.

The Kingsley & Hart Readers' Choice Award
Entries are anonymised before judging. Verified readers vote. The count is published beside the result, ballot by ballot. We could not sell you a win if you offered.
Before you submit
No. We write what the editor found. An honest review that names a flaw is worth more to a reader than praise they can tell was paid for, and that is the entire value of this desk.
You see it before it publishes. If you would rather it stayed unpublished, say so and it stays unpublished — the fee covers the read and the writing, which you keep either way.
An editor begins within two working days. A full read and a written verdict usually takes ten to fourteen days, less with a priority read.
There is no mechanism by which anyone could, including us. Ballots are hash-chained and published, so a vote that did not come from a verified reader would be visible to everybody.
Named editors. Every review and interview carries a byline, a date and the editor's credentials, because unsigned praise is worth nothing.
Payment by Razorpay. We never see your card. Write to editor@kingsleyandhart.com with anything first.
